Annie Parr

Biography

Annie Parr (1975) is a graphic artist from Iqaluit, NU. Parr is an illustrator, printmaker and engraver. She studied art at Peter Pitseolak School and later attended Arctic College for a program in Early Childhood Education [1].

Parr developed an interest in drawing and printmaking in 2015 after attending an engraving workshop hosted by Paul Machnick from Studio PM in Montreal, QC [2]. Her print Roaming Bears (2017) features two bears standing on a snowy landscape. The bears appear to be relaxed but vigilant as they survey the horizon. Parr made her debut appearance in the 2017 Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection with the inclusion of Roaming Bears.
