Ilisarniq Workshop: Giving & Receiving Artistic Feedback 101

Tuesday, September 26, 2023
1:00 PM to 2:30 PM
(EDT)

In Collaboration With:
Inuit Futures

Receiving feedback on your artwork can offer valuable insights and take your artistic expression in a new, positive direction.

But, it might also feel like going to the dentist!

In this workshop, we’ll discuss the pivotal role feedback plays in the growth and development of  artists, and learn how to evaluate, analyze, and engage with the creative work of others in a supportive and encouraging way. Our workshop facilitator, who is an artist and has served as a peer assessor for the Inuit Art Foundation,* will guide you through strategies that spark meaningful discussions, cultivate diverse viewpoints, and encourage artists to explore new ideas and experiment with different approaches.

*After completing the workshop, all Inuit participants are highly encouraged to consider applying to become a peer assessor with the Inuit Art Foundation. A peer assessor is someone who evaluates applications from other Inuit artists for funding opportunities. This is a paid opportunity to provide artists with feedback and financial support to further their practices and advance their careers! More details will be provided during the workshop.
