In Collaboration with:
Inuit Futures

Join us for the first "Create & Connect" drop-in session, a new series for Inuit artists seeking guidance and support in their journey. This session will focus on funding applications, and is designed to help artists gain confidence and clarity about the process of applying to funding.

Two IAF staff members, Kyle Aleekuk and Bronson Jacque, will be available to answer questions and provide guidance. Whether you need help with grant applications, proposal writing, budgeting, or other aspects of the application process, our team is here to point you in the right direction.

This is an open event, so feel free to drop in and out at any time during the session. We welcome artists of all backgrounds and skill levels.

    Bronson-Jacque
Bronson Jacque is a painter from Postville, Nunatsiavut, NL, recognized for his highly detailed portraits in oil. Jacque began pursuing art seriously at age sixteen, and is proud to be part of Labrador’s art scene, alongside his artistic family. Jacque’s works are known for their dreamy quality, a loose, hazy naturalism that is born of his own experience as a nearsighted child. Jacques work has been featured in numerous publications including Nunatsiaq News, the CBC and the Inuit Art Quarterly. In 2020, Jacque was commissioned to create a large-scale painting for the inaugural exhibition, "INUA", at Qaumajuq at the Winnipeg Art Gallery in Manitoba in 2021.

    Kyle-Natkusiak-Aleekuk
Kyle Natkusiak Aleekuk is a writer, musician and self-taught visual artist based in Edmonton, AB. The grandson of Peter (Aliknak) Banksland and the great-nephew of Agnes Nanogak Goose, Aleekuk draws inspiration from the distinctive printmaking style from Uluhaktok (Holman) made famous by his relatives. Combining this graphic style with Americana tattoo art and tattoo flash, Aleekuk creates inventive images in watercolours and India ink.
