Join the IAF in celebrating the five artists shortlisted for the Kenojuak Ashevak Memorial Award in a series of talks this June. The final talk will feature Kinngait (Cape Dorset) based artist Ningiukulu Teevee.
Teevee shares her unique perspective on historical and contemporary Inuit culture through both her visual art and writing. In particular, her ability to capture and distill stories into drawings and prints is part of what makes Teevee’s work so popular. She is noted for her frequent and playful translation of traditional stories into dynamic compositions.
During this artist talk, you’ll have an opportunity to learn about Teevee’s creative process, and what inspires her unique style.
