Haley Edmunds-Shiwak

Biography

Haley Edmunds-Shiwak is an aspiring artist from Postville, Labrador who plans to expand her work and carry on a family legacy in the arts. Edmunds-Shiwak references her artistic abilities as coming from her parents. Her mother is a seamstress and her father is a graphic artist, both of whom she said, “helped me to create my own artistic sense.” Working across many different artistic mediums from drawing to clay sculpting, Edmunds-Shiwak plans on growing her skills by pursuing a university education to receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts before focusing on becoming a professional artist.

Though it is still early on in her career, Edmunds-Shiwak has already travelled to Montreal and Ottawa for arts related events, travelling with 150 other young artists to explore some of Canada’s cultural spaces and events, and was brought to the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards.
