Becky Okatsiak is an artist from Kangiqliniq (Rankin Inlet). Okatsiak attended Nunavut Sivuniksavut Ottawa, ON for their college program and then pursued a fine arts program at Algonquin College Ottawa, ON. Okatsiak transitioned from student to teacher and has worked to celebrate Inuit culture, art and storytelling as a method of inspiring Inuit youth [1]. Currently, she works as an alumni coordinator with Students on Ice.
Okatsiak works as a professional artist and was previously teacher of Inuit art and culture for elementary school children. She is also a throat singer and storyteller and an artist at the 2018 Nunavut Arts Festival.
