Ashevak Tunnillie

Biography

Ashevak Tunnillie is a carver based in Kinngait (Cape Dorset), NU. He works mostly with serpentinite to depict polar bears as well as spirits and shamans.

Tunnillie has exhibited his work across Canada and internationally including being part of the 1989 exhibition Masters of the Arctic: An Exhibition of Contemporary Inuit Masterworks, which toured for over a decade. His work is part of the public collection of the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa, ON.
